Fulham’s Premier League Footballer, and then on-loan to Exeter City’s Football Club Jay Stansfield visited Footgolf Devon for the official launch on Sunday 30th April 2023. Jay arrived at 11am to play the famous Field of Dreams at Footgolf Devon and to see if he could land a hole in one. He was a true gentlemen and stayed for over 2 hours playing with Footgolf Devon’s directors, Paul Hawkins and Sam Evans. Jay scored a credible 64 for 18 holes (-2) and nearly drove the green on hole 9 which has been named after the local hero and the famous number 9 shirt worn by Jay and his Dad Adam – The Stansfield.
Many children from Cullompton Rangers Youth Teams and adults a like managed to catch a photo and grab an autograph with Jay whilst he was playing.
Jay went on that evening to the Exeter City presentation evening where he collected the PFA in the Community Champion for 2022/2023. This award is given to players who have made their work with communities and good causes central to their role as a footballer and we here at Footgolf Devon couldn’t agree more.
